Relaxation and recreation combine at this riverside haven. Te Awa Glamping is more than glamping, it’s an immersive experience. A luxury escape on the banks of the mighty Whanganui River.
Te Awa is located deep in a family farm with private beach access. You can arrive by jet-boat, canoe, air or road, for a stay you’ll be sure to remember.
Custom made luxury tents offer everything you need to unwind. The first of their kind in New Zealand, the eco explorer tents emulate the countryside's rolling hills with its fluid lines and spaciousness, using full-size doors and large windows in order to maximise stunning river and rural views.
Te Awa is in an ideal location along the Forgotten World Highway to either take a break from the busyness of life or get busy with an array of activities. You can choose to simply kick back and relax, soaking in the stunning surroundings, or if you're an active relaxer, you can grab a bike and explore the range of trails in the area, canoe or jet boat down to the Lavender Cafe or explore New Zealand's wondrous Forgotten World.
Established: Te Awa Glamping was founded in 2020. However, the beautiful property has been a working, family-owned beef and sheep farm for many years before that.
Location: In Taumarunui on the banks of the spectacular Whanganui River. Only three hours South of Auckland or four hours North of Wellington.
Owners: Te Awa Glamping is owned by Tom and Louise Donaldson. Creating a luxury glamping site on the farm was a natural decision for the family of four. Tom and Louise love people and believe in the concept of manaakitanga, sharing hospitality with others so they can relax and enjoy the blessings we have at hand here in New Zealand.
